Vasyl Lomachenko is widely considered one of the most successful and technical boxers in amateur boxing history, with 396 victories in 397 fights, avenging his only defeat twice. He arrived on the professional circuit with one idea in mind: to break records and be recognized as one of the best boxers of all time.

Multiple-time Champion across various weight classes, in 2014, Loma equaled a 39-year-long unbeaten record of successfully winning a world title in his third professional bout. Following this achievement, Loma went on to set the record for winning world titles in a second and third weight division in the fewest number of fights; his 7th and 12th professional bouts!

In 2019, after tasting defeat and losing his titles, Loma engaged in a quest of resurgence. Starting his journey by beating the Japanese Masayoshi Nakatani by referee's stoppage in the 9th; 6 months later, Vasyl Lomachenko validated his reconquest by winning a unanimous decision against the former world champion Richard Commey after putting on a masterful performance.

Nicknamed Hi-tech or Matrix by his peers for the ability to be several steps ahead of his opponents in an almost robotic system, the Ukrainian athlete's style is highly praised, and often compared to that of an artist, even Picasso. Far from the glitz and trash-talking image sometimes associated with boxing, he has only one motivation, to be the best. Trained by his father, Anatoliy Lomachenko, since his youth, he has developed extraordinary skills through unusual training methods. The two of them form an unbeatable duo.

THE CREATION

OF A CHAMPION

The "Papachenko" method

Anatoliy’s plan, psychologically speaking, was putting a pair of gloves of the Ukrainian artist from a young age, in the cradle. Following this, he stopped his son practicing boxing, but enrolled him in several sporting disciplines; dance, gymnastics, football, hockey... understanding that he would want to return to boxing, taking something away from a child makes it all the more desirable.

In his corner he observes, notes, corrects. He analyzes every tiny detail, his sons smallest movements. Lomachenko may have been revealed by his talent, but he was shaped by his father from an early age. "Papachenko" did not make his son a simple boxer, but an athlete and a man who sees beyond rivals. He educated his body and his mind, opened him to several disciplines, the arts, psychology and everything that makes a man grow. In training he sometimes runs, juggles, swims... or even works his breathing. Each of the tools orchestrated by "Papachenko" is another weapon for Vasyl who pushes his limits day after day. He can adapt to everything, learns from everything, like the philosophers and samurais of their time. The body does not go without the spirit. The son does not go without the father.

A fine psychologist, Anatoliy has surrounded himself with a real psychologist in the person of Andriy, two outstanding strategists who combined their know-how and vision in order to make Loma an athlete who apparently defies human abilities.

A connection, an absolute trust between father and son. Vasiliy only wants to be coached by his father, he never leaves him, and even has him tattooed on his right side.
